Mouse Poem

And a chocolate racing car

Amongst the lecture notes and receipts.

The virgin Mary and the little boy Jesus

Are sheltered by a request to renew the

Boiler Insurance.

An Angel is propping up a

Visa Statement, offering it

A better balance.

Sunlight sings through the lens

Of a Glass Star of Bethlehem

Shimmering on your Gloss Face

Framed by plastic.

This chaos, this struggle

A moment suspended between

The triumph of the Christmas things

Over the reluctant recession of all

That doesn’t matter any more.
