A Valentine poem, but also a poem that celebrates the value and uniqueness of the “other” and why we can be constantly surprised and delighted by those in our lives.

Do you know

The skill you have?

How you unwrap my

Sadness like an

Unwanted Present?

So easily you

Do it. By just

Being, not doing,

The paper turns

Translucent and,

Without showing,

You show the way.

Each salted tear

Caught so skilfully

In your hands.

You cup me and I

am safe for a moment

Held, by easy

Of all that you are.
